The Alexander Technique is a long proven and innovative approach to movement that teaches you how to think in activity. By paying attention to the way you move and respond, you develop mental discipline to move, speak, and express with greater freedom and ease. Despite what many think, it’s not about ‘posture’ or finding a "correct position" —it’s about transforming the way you think, move, and live.
We all experience energy leaks: places where misplaced attention, tension, or over-effort quietly drain performance
and comfort. And there’s often a gap between what someone intends to do and what actually
happens in their body.
Rather than trying to force change, The Alexander Technique teaches you how to indirectly influence
your body by becoming aware of your habits in the moment. When you’re not operating on autopilot, you have
more options in how you move, respond, and show up. That allows for more ease in the body, confidence in
action, and trust in yourself, on stage, in training, and in daily life.
Improve at whatever activity is most important to you faster by helping you stop being in conflict with yourself.. As Alexander says, when “the principles of reasoned conscious control are adopted…[they] will attain proficiency…in one-tenth part of the time that the subconsciously controlled [person] took to obtain a half-mastery of it.” - F.M. Alexander
Sessions provide an engaging and supportive space where you explore both how you move and the thinking behind your movements. Most people begin with a small series of one-on-one or group lessons.
Focused on real activities (sitting, standing, walking, speaking, performing) — and explore how changing
your thinking can unlock greater ease and skill.
Through these activities, we explore key principles behind Alexander's work and how these principles can be
applied to build independence, not dependence. People often ask, “What are the next steps?” The goal is
that, over time, you need fewer interventions from a teacher, because you trust your own process
and ability.
Each practical lesson consists of discussion and guiding hands-on work. During these sessions, we'll take a
fun and lighthearted look at your movements and the thoughts that influence them. This may seem small or
subtle at first, but bringing attention to how we think about our everyday movements often leads to
surprising shifts - even a general sense of greater freedom in our daily lives.

Group classes of 2 - 6 people are hugely beneficial, as they allow for observing others, sharing insights, and participating in group discussions. This often deepens understanding in ways that individual work alone may not. Explore these concepts over a 6 session intensive over 6 weeks where you engage with others, observe diverse movement styles, and deepen insight through shared learning.
